So I started thinking of the next novel I want to write. I'm thinking of doing another run at Convert35, the rewrite/reimagining of my first novel, Between the Shadows.
For the uninitiated, Between the Shadows was written in 3 months with the help of Mel Odom (really just him talking with me about the story and what needed to happen in the next group of scenes). There's a lot you can give in the details. A simple gesture, a flippant look. The way someone shutters their windows as you look up at them. This can paint broad strokes with characters, but more specifically, it can't tell loads about the world and the society. This is the type of reveal that I love.Read More
Unfortunately, with all the chaos of the last week and the Memorial Day sale at my job, I've had little time to spend on writing. My normal day off was taken by my son, not that he's a burden, but I've come to refer to him as the "Tiny Tyrant." He wants to be paid attention to as much as possible, regardless of whether or not I've spent the last three hours dancing with him.
